The Metternich Way
To the natural springs in the forests of Prince Clemens W. Metternich (1821 – 1848 Austrian State Chancellor, holder of the Kynžvart estate and castle).
The recommended starting point is TyrÅ¡ova Street below the swimming pool. The walk heads into the deep woods to the Bear Spring, which springs from a hollow wooden trunk and turns the stream red. At the turnoff you will find BalbÃn Spring, which was discovered in 1853 during the extraction of peat for spa purposes. The 4.5 km long route takes you to the old cemetery with a ceremonial chapel and even further to the Karola lookout, named in honour of the Saxon queen. The walk ends in the park by the Forest Spring, where there is a quiet corner with a monument to the writer Václav B. TÅ™ebÃzský. The adjacent park with the music pavilion was decorated by sculptor Olbram Zoubek with a sculpture of the three muses.
