Reliquary of St. Maurus

A trip to Bečov nad Teplou Castle and Chateau, where the Reliquary of St. Maurus is located, which is considered the second most valuable monument in the Czech Republic (after the Czech Crown Jewels).

The route will take you through the romantic valley of the Teplá River to Bečov, where there is a historical area with a Gothic castle, a Renaissance palace and a Baroque chateau. It offers two tours for visitors – 1. Reliquary of St. Maurus (basic tour), which introduces you to the unique Romanesque monument and 2.

In Bečov you can also visit the museum of historical motorcycles, toys and even the botanical garden.

Only a few kilometres from Bečov, at an altitude of 777 m, is the Krásenská Lookout Tower. Thanks to its unusual spiral shape, it is very popular and one of the most beautiful in the Czech Republic.

When returning back to Mariánské Lázně, you can relax in the restored park behind the village of Prameny, where Rudolf’s and Gisela’s springs spring up.

The last tourist destination on the route is the Kladská Nature Reserve, where you can walk a 1.5 km long nature trail or visit the House of Nature.
