For the views

A longer but easy trip to the surroundings of Marianske Lazne.

We will enjoy the view of the distant countryside, get acquainted with a unique natural monument and get to know the springs at the Úšovický brook.

From the tourist signpost in the centre of Mariánské Lázně, follow the yellow marked trail up to the Hamelika lookout tower. The forest path will take you to the Boheminium Park. From the crossroads continue along the dirt road to the village of Zádub-Závišín. Keep following the yellow tourist sign – cross the road to Karlovy Vary and follow the path towards the forest. Turn right, pass by the extinct basalt quarry. We climb to Podhorní vrch (847 m), the highest point of the Tepelská vrchovina. Enjoy the view. From Podhorní vrch we descend steeply along the forest path. We will reach Milhostov. After the railway viaduct we continue into the valley. The path leads past an interesting locality – Milhostovské mofety. It is a unique mofet field with mostly dry craters with natural carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide seeps. We continue along the valley of the Jilmový brook to the Horka spring. At the crossroads turn right along the green sign towards Vlkovice. After Vlkovice we leave the road and follow the forest path down to Úšovice. From Antoníček’s Spring a comfortable path leads us to the park near Rudolf and Ferdinand’s Spring. Then we continue on the green trail to the centre.

Tip: You can use public transport to shorten the route. Bus No. 13 will take you from Centrum station to the final stop Zádub-Závišín.
